Russian President to visit Uzbekistan in December

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Russia Vladimir Putin will visit Uzbekistan in December 2014, the Russian leader stated during the meeting with Ambassador of Uzbekistan Akmal Kamalov at the ceremony of handing over credentials.

“I plan to visit Tashkent in December at the invitation of President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov,” the Russian President said at the ceremony.

“This visit will certainly help to take our bilateral relations further and will strengthen stability in the Central Asian region,” Vladimir Putin noted.

“This year, we will celebrate an important date in Russian-Uzbekistani relations – the 10th anniversary of the Agreement on Strategic Partnership. Over this time we have achieved major results in practically all areas of our bilateral cooperation,” he said.
