Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Yandex Uzbekistan has expanded its public transport services by adding real-time bus tracking to its navigation platforms in 11 additional cities.
Passengers can now monitor the location and arrival times of buses using the Yandex Go and Yandex Maps apps, significantly simplifying trip planning.
This functionality, previously available in Tashkent and Samarkand, is now also accessible in:
Angren, Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Gulistan, Karshi, Navoi, Namangan, Nukus, Urgench, and Ferghana.
With this feature, users can:
– See the real-time location of a selected bus;
– Check how many minutes remain until it arrives at a specific stop;
– Search for routes by bus number (e.g., “bus 5”);
– View full schedules and stop lists.
These services update live, thanks to sensors installed on buses and predictive algorithms that factor in current traffic conditions.
“It’s important that every resident and guest of Uzbekistan has the ability to track public transport in the apps they’re familiar with. We fully support the development of digital solutions that make urban mobility more convenient,” said Mamanbiy Omarov, First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to Izzat Shukurov, head of Yandex Uzbekistan, the service currently covers 230 routes. The company plans to continue enhancing this feature to make public transport use even more accessible and efficient.
