Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Facts of drug-containing plant cultivation and marijuana storage have been identified in Uzbekistan's Andijan, Samarkand and Bukhara regions as part of the Koradori-2026 operational and preventive operation, the Interior Ministry's press service said.
A total of 70 kg of narcotic substances and plants was discovered.
The second stage of the operation included control overflights using helicopter equipment.
In the Altynkul district of Andijan region, a local resident was detained after keeping 24 kg of marijuana at home. In the same district, law enforcement officers detained a farm manager who had organised a cannabis plantation of 520 bushes.
Another resident of the Izbaskan district kept more than 6 kg of marijuana at home.
In the Samarkand district of Samarkand region, specialists identified a household plot where a local resident was growing 41 cannabis bushes. In addition, 400 grams of marijuana was found in his possession.
In the Bukhara district of Bukhara region, a married couple was detained for growing 46 cannabis bushes on a household plot. In another case, law enforcement officers identified family members who were growing 53 cannabis bushes.
Criminal cases have been opened over the identified facts under the relevant paragraphs of parts 1 and 2 of Article 270 of the Criminal Code, which provides for liability for cultivating crops prohibited for cultivation, as well as under part 6 of Article 273, concerning illegal actions with narcotic substances, their analogues or psychotropic substances with the aim of sale or their sale.
Investigative actions are currently continuing.
