Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan will introduce changes to the procedure for handling violations involving vehicles crossing horizontal road markings near intersections and U-turn areas from 1 November.

The changes are stipulated in Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 596, dated 29 October 2026.

Under the resolution, traffic police inspectors will no longer draw up administrative reports for driving over road marking lines 1.1 and 1.3 within 50 metres before intersections and 20 metres before designated U-turn areas.

The resolution also provides for the automated detection of seat belt violations. Specialised automated photo and video systems will be able to identify cases in which drivers operate vehicles or transport passengers without seat belts fastened.

The equipment must meet established technical requirements and automatically transmit violation data to the Administrative Practice module.

The changes also affect the placement of signs indicating stationary speed cameras. Road sign 5.43, “Radar”, must be installed directly within the camera's operating zone and in advance, at a distance of 250 to 500 metres before the device.

Drivers are advised to take the new rules into account and comply with traffic regulations.
