Taekwondo athletes of Uzbekistan performed worthily at the World Championships, repeating the record for the number of medals

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The World Taekwondo WT Championship is coming to an end in the capital of Azerbaijan. The national team of Uzbekistan that participated in it repeated its record for the number of medals won at the world championships. At Baku-2023, our compatriots won 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Svetlana Osipova, who for the second time in a row reached the finals of the world championships in the +73 kg weight category among women, this time won a silver medal. Also, Feruza Sodikova became a two-time winner of bronze medals (-62 kg).

Olympic champion Tokyo 2020 Ulugbek Rashitov for the first time climbed the podium of the World Cup. Rashitov won a bronze medal in the weight category up to 68 kg. In addition, Omonjon Otajonov, who made his debut at the adult world championship, took third place in the weight category up to 54 kg.

Bronze:

-62 kg: Feruza Sodikova

-54 kg: Omonjon Otajonov

-68 kg: Ulugbek Rashitov
