Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Finance Football has published a ranking of national team head coaches participating in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, based on salary levels.
In the list, Uzbekistan head coach Fabio Cannavaro is ranked fifth, ahead of several well-known managers, including those of France, the Netherlands and Uruguay.
According to the published data, the highest-paid coach at the tournament is Carlo Ancelotti, who leads Brazil, with an annual salary of €10 million.
The second position is held by United States head coach Mauricio Pochettino. The coaches of Canada and Mexico, the tournament co-hosts, are placed 10th and 11th respectively.
Cannavaro, who manages the Uzbekistan national team, is ranked fifth and reportedly earns a salary comparable to Portugal head coach Roberto Martínez.
The report notes that coaches of Argentina and Spain, considered among the tournament favorites, are outside the top 12. Lionel Scaloni earns €2.3 million per year, while Luis de la Fuente earns €2 million.
Japan head coach Hajime Moriyasu earns €1.1 million annually. Lower salaries are reported for Belgium and Scotland coaches, with Rudi Garcia earning €700,000 and Steve Clarke €530,000 per year.
The publication also notes that official salary figures for Fabio Cannavaro as Uzbekistan head coach have not been disclosed.
Earlier, the Uzbekistan Football Association denied reports that the Italian coach earns €4 million per year, stating that the actual figure is significantly lower.
It also said that the head coach’s remuneration is not disclosed for ethical reasons.
