The AFC Asian Cup™ Organising Committee met today under the chairmanship of China’s Zhang Jilong and took stock of the preparations for the July 7-29 competition.
At the outset, AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam noted that preparations had gathered momentum in the four host countries.
"The Member Associations have lifted their preparations and AFC is satisfied. Now we need to focus on how to make this competition successful when in action," said Bin Hammam.
"We have set the bar high which correctly reflects the prestige and importance of this event. The period ahead is crucial for us as we need to tie up all loose ends."
AFC Asian Cup™ Organising Committee chairman Jilong commented: "I am pleased to see the progress in the last couple of months. The hard work of the four hosts is bound to pay off but there needs to be a concerted effort over the next two months.
"I have no doubt about the success of this competition as it is a collective goal," added Jilong.
The AFC Asian Cup™ Organising Committee comprehensively reviewed the activities to date, including the assessment visits, launch of media accreditations, ticket sales, team workshops, and the need for top level media facilities at each of the venues.
