Uzbekistan’s retail trade turnover reaches 9.588 trln soums in 1H

In the structure of retail trade turnover the share of food products was 49,0% and that of non-food products – 51,0% (in January-June 2009 – 50,0 and 50,0% respectively).

In January-June 2010, the retail trade turnover of trade enterprises reached 4.093 trillion soums or increased by 10.6% year-on-year. In the structure of the retail trade, the turnover of trade enterprises made up 42.7%.

In the total turnover of trade enterprises, the share of the retail trade turnover of trade enterprises in the rural area was 23.1%.

The sale of agricultural products and livestock in dehkan markets rose by 11.1% and reached 3.425 trillion soums. The share of sales in the retail trade turnover was 35.7%.

The goods turnover of the informal sector (commodity and specialized markets) was 2.07 trillion soums or 8.4% higher than in January-June 2009. The share of the informal sector in the total volume of goods turnover was 21.6%.
