Over 8 kg of heroin seized in two Uzbek regions

During an operation held in central Sirdaryo Region in early January, officers from the interior and security agencies "found a package containing over six kilos of heroin thoroughly hidden in the boot of a local’s car", and they detained the local with his accomplice, a resident of central Tashkent Region, the report said.

During another operation held in southernmost Surxondaryo Region’s Sariosiyo District in January, a local was also detained at his own home "while he was packaging over two kilos of heroin" for sale, the report said.
