Germany’s President Steinmeier arrives in Uzbekistan for talks
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Uzbekistan for official talks, according to an announcement on 17 June 2026.
He and his spouse were formally received at Tashkent-Humo International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Achilbay Ramatov and other officials.
During the visit, high-level talks are scheduled in both narrow and expanded formats. The sides are expected to discuss further deepening of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Germany.
Special attention will be given to expanding cooperation in trade, industrial cooperation, energy and green technologies, transport and logistics, pharmaceuticals and chemical industries, as well as agriculture.
The agenda also includes the development of educational and humanitarian exchanges, along with discussions on international and regional issues.
At the conclusion of the visit, the launch of a number of new joint projects and programmes aimed at strengthening practical cooperation between the two countries is expected.
