New German Ambassador Begins Mission in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Germany's new ambassador to Uzbekistan, Matthias Follert, has assumed his duties, according to the press service of the German Embassy in Uzbekistan.

Follert stated his intention to continue strengthening relations between Germany and Uzbekistan.

Prior to his appointment to Tashkent, he served as head of the division for the South Caucasus, Central Asia, and Eastern Partnership at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany from 2022 to 2026.

Follert succeeded Manfred Huterer as German Ambassador to Uzbekistan.
