Namangan region to implement Chinese spatial planning standards

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Large-scale international cooperation has officially started in the Namangan region to modernize its architectural and planning structure and elevate urban development to a new level.

The hokim of the region, Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, held an official working meeting with a delegation from one of the leading urban planning design institutes in the People's Republic of China, the China Urban Construction Design & Research Institute (CUCD).

The foreign delegation included Yuwei Xue, director of the company's International Consulting Center, Weiqun Dong, project manager, and Xuan Wang, an urban planning specialist.

During the negotiations, the sides examined the mechanisms for the practical implementation of modern spatial development approaches within the Namangan region. The main emphasis was placed on integrating the advanced global practice of creating long-term master-plans into the existing system of territorial planning in the region.

Following the meeting, the partners reached a firm agreement on the joint preparation of comprehensive development strategies for the Kasansay, Naryn, and Chartak districts. The project provides for a detailed analysis and the compilation of individual spatial plans based on the unique economic potential, logistical characteristics, and key industrial directions of each specific territory.

Specialized analysts and engineers from CUCD have already begun preparing the necessary pre-project documentation for the specified districts.

The management of the Namangan region emphasized that this partnership represents a strategic step toward systematizing urbanization processes in accordance with current international requirements. The implementation of joint urban development projects will lay a solid foundation for the efficient use of the regional resource base, create new sustainable points of economic growth, and form a comfortable and safe infrastructural environment for the daily life of the local population.
