Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Discuss Expanding Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic, who arrived in Tashkent to participate in the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Kyrgyz official conveyed greetings and best wishes from President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov to the President of Uzbekistan.

The sides paid special attention to the practical implementation of agreements previously reached at the level of the leaders of the two countries. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in trade and economic relations, transport, water and energy sectors, as well as cultural, humanitarian, and interregional exchanges.

The importance of preparing new project initiatives within the framework of upcoming meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council was also emphasized.

It was noted that these cooperation mechanisms should contribute to the further development of the bilateral agenda and the strengthening of partnership between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
