Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan plans to attract 10.57 million foreign tourists in 2024. This is stated in the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to significantly increase the flow of foreign tourists to the republic and further enhance domestic tourism.”
At the same time, the decree notes that in the first quarter of 2024, 1.75 million foreign tourists will visit Uzbekistan, in the second quarter of 2024 - 3.32 million foreign tourists, in the third quarter - 3.25 million foreign tourists and in fourth quarter – 2.25 million foreign tourists.
According to the document, in 2024, 22 million domestic tourists will travel. It is expected that 2.16 million domestic tourists will visit tourist destinations in the first quarter, 8.34 million in the second quarter, 7.21 million in the third quarter and 4.3 million in the fourth quarter.
The number of tour operators and travel agencies in 2024 will increase by 100 units. Currently, there are more than 2.65 thousand tour operators and travel agencies operating in Uzbekistan.
In 2024, according to the decree, 600 new accommodation facilities are planned to be opened in Uzbekistan. At the moment, the number of accommodation facilities is 5,520.
According to the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan, between January and December 2023, about 6.63 million foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan.
