Tashkent Discusses First Barceló Hotel in Central Asia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent officials have discussed the possibility of opening the first hotel of international hospitality chain Barceló Hotel Group in Central Asia, the Tashkent city administration said.
The meeting on the project was attended by representatives of the Tashkent city administration, Toshkent Invest Company JSC and the Tashkent Tourism Department.
Tashkent Deputy Hokim Azizkhon Shovkatov and representatives of relevant organizations reviewed the prospects for implementing the project and the potential presence of Barceló Hotel Group in the Uzbek capital.
The sides discussed the concept of the proposed project, investment opportunities and the next stages of cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to the possibility of locating Barceló Hotel Group’s first property in Central Asia in Tashkent.
Barceló Hotel Group is one of Spain’s leading hotel chains. The company operates in more than 30 countries and manages hundreds of hotels worldwide.
Following the meeting, the sides continued discussions on the parameters of the potential project and areas for further cooperation.
The project, if implemented, could expand Tashkent’s hotel offering, contribute to the development of the city’s international tourism potential and attract new investment to the tourism sector.
