Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulating him on the holding of elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Uzbek presidential press service said.
In the letter, Mirziyoyev said the elections, in his assessment, demonstrated a high level of political culture and civic consolidation in Russian society.
The Uzbek president also noted the high voter turnout and the election results, linking them to Russian citizens’ trust in and support for the strategic course pursued under Vladimir Putin’s leadership and aimed at the country’s socio-economic development and protection of national interests.
Mirziyoyev expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Russia.
He separately highlighted the role of interparliamentary cooperation in bilateral relations. According to the Uzbek leader, parliamentary cooperation will contribute to implementing joint projects and programmes.
Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that joint efforts would give new impetus to Uzbek-Russian cooperation and fill it with new initiatives.
At the conclusion of the letter, the Uzbek president wished Vladimir Putin good health and success in his state activities, and the people of Russia peace, prosperity and progress.
