Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Asadjan Khodjaev has been appointed Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan.
The relevant order was signed by the Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.
In his new position, Khodjaev will oversee compliance and internal anti-corruption control.
Asadjan Khodjaev was born on 3 September 1970 in the Chimkent region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
He holds a higher education degree. In 1993, he graduated from the Tashkent Electrotechnical Institute of Communications with a degree in telecommunications engineering. In 2001, he graduated from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Uzbekistan with a master’s degree in economics.
From 2004 to 2011, Khodjaev served as Deputy Director General of the Agency for Communications and Informatization, now the Ministry of Digital Technologies. From 2011 to 2012, he was Director General of the Intellectual Property Agency, and from 2012 to 2017, he headed the National Library of Uzbekistan.
From March to December 2017, he served as Deputy State Adviser and Head of the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan. In 2017–2018, he worked as First Deputy Head of the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after Uzbekistan’s first president, Islam Karimov.
From 2018 to 2019, Khodjaev headed the Centre for Information Security and Assistance in Ensuring Public Order under the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications.
Since November 2019, he served as head of the State Inspectorate for Control in the Sphere of Informatization and Telecommunications.
In July 2020, Khodjaev was appointed Director of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Presidential Administration. He held the position until the agency was abolished in July 2025.
