Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has introduced administrative liability for physical violence, humiliation or insults against minors committed by individuals responsible for their upbringing and education in educational organizations. The relevant amendments were introduced by Law No. ZRU–1174 dated 11 September 2026.

Under amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, using physical violence against a child, as well as actions involving humiliation or insults, will be punishable by a fine of between one and five basic calculation units if the actions do not contain elements of a crime or another offense.

The new provisions apply to individuals assigned responsibility for the upbringing and education of minors in educational organizations.

The law also establishes restrictions on further teaching activities for individuals held administratively liable for offenses involving physical and/or psychological violence against minors in the course of their professional teaching activities.

For one year, such individuals will not be permitted to work in preschool education, general secondary and specialized secondary education, vocational education or supplementary education organizations for children.

The law also introduces amendments governing alimony payments. A father or mother required to pay alimony for a minor child who is fully supported by the state or a non-state institution may not be released from the obligation to pay alimony.

In cases concerning a reduction in the amount of alimony collected from both parents or one of them for the benefit of a child left without parental care, the “Inson” social services centers will be involved in the proceedings.

Law No. ZRU–1174 enters into force on the day of its official publication.
