IT Park Uzbekistan and Sturgeon Capital Expand Partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, Enterprise Uzbekistan, and IT Park Ventures, led by Chief Executive Officer Azamat Karamatov, held an official meeting with the leadership of the prominent British venture capital fund Sturgeon Capital, including Chief Executive Officer Kiyan Zandieh and partner Robin Butler.

The central theme of the expanded negotiations was strengthening the investment partnership, integrating domestic technology companies into the global investment community, and developing mechanisms for the qualitative growth of the venture ecosystem in Uzbekistan.

During the dialogue, special emphasis was placed on attracting foreign capital to the fast-growing technology projects of the country. The parties reviewed in detail the prospects for launching joint investments in the most promising and high-tech sectors, including artificial intelligence, financial technology (fintech), SaaS solutions, and digital infrastructure.

Presenting the achievements of Uzbekistan, representatives of IT Park Ventures familiarized the British partners with strategic approaches to stimulating the venture market and current measures to support startups at various stages of their growth.

In turn, the leadership of Sturgeon Capital highly praised the development dynamics of the Central Asian technology sector and expressed strong interest in scaling up interaction with local technology entrepreneurs.

A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to the transfer of international expertise. The partners discussed the possibility of exchanging experience in key aspects such as comprehensive investment analysis, conducting due diligence procedures, selecting promising teams, and effectively managing portfolio companies.

Additionally, in the context of the presentation of Enterprise Uzbekistan's activities, the parties outlined ways to utilize best British practices to improve the national regulatory environment in the field of venture financing.
