Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan ranked first by the share of FTTH connection tests among countries with comparable GDP per capita, with fiber-to-the-home connections accounting for 16.4% of tests conducted in the country from January through September 2026, according to nPerf data.
The comparison covered countries with GDP per capita ranging from US$3,800 to US$6,500. Uzbekistan had the highest share of FTTH tests among all countries in this group.
Morocco recorded an FTTH test share of 15.4%, followed by Ukraine at 12.9%. Indonesia ranked next with 11.9%, while Vietnam recorded 4.4%.
FTTH, or Fiber to the Home, provides a fiber-optic connection directly to a user’s home.
The technology offers higher download and upload speeds and lower latency compared with some other types of fixed connections.
These characteristics are particularly important for high-resolution video streaming and remote work.
Differences in FTTH test shares between countries reflect varying rates of development of high-speed access infrastructure and, consequently, can affect the quality of fixed broadband connectivity available to users.
