Ferghana Region and Tochigi Prefecture Discuss Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov met with Shigeyoshi Masubuchi, Senior Director of a Tochigi Prefectural Government department, and former Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan Fumihiko Kato to discuss prospects for developing cooperation between Tochigi Prefecture and Ferghana Region, Dunyo News Agency reported.

The Japanese side expressed interest in expanding a mutually beneficial partnership with Ferghana Region, noting its population of 4.2 million and high rates of socioeconomic development.

Participants paid particular attention to identifying priority areas of interaction between Ferghana Region and Tochigi Prefecture.

The parties also exchanged views on implementing new joint projects in workforce training and Japanese language studies, as well as developing cooperation between higher education institutions, agriculture, education, and labor migration.
