Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and South Korean company JIN System Co., Ltd. are developing cooperation in precision agriculture, geospatial monitoring and the introduction of modern technologies, the Uzbek Ministry of Agriculture said.
Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Agriculture Kahramon Yuldashev met with a delegation from JIN System to discuss the development of cooperation in these areas.
The meeting was held ahead of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's state visit to the Republic of Korea on 13–16 September and the first Central Asia-Republic of Korea Summit, which will take place in Seoul on 16 September.
One of the main topics was the use of GNSS RTK technologies to monitor agricultural land, clarify the boundaries of land plots and improve the accuracy of field measurements. The sides also considered prospects for developing precision agriculture practices.
The participants noted the importance of accurate geospatial data for effective agricultural management. Reliable information on land and cultivated areas enables more effective management decisions.
The sides also discussed digital transformation, scientific research and innovative technologies as prospective areas of cooperation.
Following the meeting, Uzbekistan and JIN System signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in smart precision agriculture and geospatial innovations.
The document provides a framework for continuing the current demonstration project and exploring new opportunities for cooperation in Uzbekistan and, if necessary, other Central Asian countries.
The sides expressed their readiness to continue cooperation in smart precision agriculture, geospatial monitoring and digital agriculture, with a focus on innovation and technology transfer.
