Electric trains to run between Qoqand and Andijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways) will launch electric train service on route Ferghana – Margilan – Qoqand and Ferghana – Margilan – Andijan in coming days.

Movement of electric trains is being established in order to create amenities for passengers, time reduction of their stay in transit.

The length of Ferghana – Kokand railway is 69.2 kilometers, Fergana – Andijan – 69.5 kilometers.

Uzbekiston Temir Yollari modernized 5 electric trains, which will be used in these directions. As a result, the exterior and interior of vehicles has changed radically. There are air conditioners, modern comfortable seats in wagons.

Each train consists of 6 wagons. About 600 passengers will be provided services in one direction. Electric trains will move at a speed of 120 kilometers per hour.

By the end of this year, activities on electrifying the railway from Ferghana to Margilan with a length of 7.7 kilometers, will be completed.

It is planned to bring 10 more electric trains from abroad.
