Uzbekistan Discusses Enterprise Greenhouse Gas Reporting
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan hosted a training seminar on introducing greenhouse gas monitoring, reporting and verification (GHG MRV) systems at the enterprise level. The event was held on 22 July 2026 at the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Green Economy Projects Center and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the seminar was organized as part of efforts to support green industrialization in Uzbekistan and provide technical consultations on implementing GHG MRV systems at enterprises. Representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, industrial enterprises and sector specialists took part.
During the training, Zsolt Lendyel, an expert from the German company Integration Consulting engaged by GIZ, presented international experience in assessing enterprise readiness for implementing GHG MRV systems. Participants also learned about practical approaches to organizing monitoring, reporting and verification processes, as well as modern methods of greenhouse gas emissions management.
The practical sessions focused on assessing enterprise readiness for MRV implementation, developing monitoring plans, collecting and managing emissions data, and preparing reports in line with international standards.
Participants also discussed key challenges in emissions monitoring and data collection, reporting methodologies and approaches to ensuring data reliability. During group exercises led by the international expert, participants practiced preparing MRV reports and reporting procedures using examples from existing projects.
The ministry said the seminar marked another step toward the phased introduction of GHG MRV systems at the enterprise level, the coordination of technical approaches and the establishment of a systematic greenhouse gas emissions accounting framework.
