Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan, in cooperation with Turkish law enforcement authorities and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, secured the extradition of three Uzbek citizens who had been on the international wanted list.

According to the National Central Bureau of Interpol, operational search activities established the whereabouts of the fugitives, who had been hiding in Istanbul. After being detained, they were transported to Uzbekistan and handed over to the competent law enforcement authorities in accordance with the established procedure.

Those extradited include a 28-year-old native of the Samarkand Region, who was placed on the international wanted list on charges of committing a serious crime against sexual integrity; a 34-year-old native of the Bukhara Region, who was wanted on fraud charges; and a 50-year-old native of Tashkent, who is accused of large-scale fraud.

The bureau said the operation was a practical result of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Türkiye, as well as the prompt exchange of information in locating and apprehending internationally wanted individuals.

The National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan said it would continue its efforts to combat transnational crime, locate wanted persons and bring them to justice through international cooperation mechanisms.
