Eduard Kovtun Appointed Uklon General Manager in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uklon has appointed Eduard Kovtun as its General Manager in Uzbekistan as part of the company's efforts to further develop its business in one of its key international markets and strengthen its local management team.

Kovtun joined Uklon in December 2025. In his new role, he will be responsible for the company's strategic business development in Uzbekistan, expanding the service, developing the local team, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing both the customer and driver experience.

Uklon Chief Executive Officer Sergey Grishkov said Uzbekistan remains one of the company's strategically important international markets, where it continues to invest in business development and its local team. He said experience in operational management, business development, international markets, and the ability to build strong teams and grow businesses in a dynamic environment were the key criteria in selecting the new country head.

Commenting on his appointment, Kovtun said he views the new position as both a significant responsibility and an opportunity to continue developing the company together with its team. He said Uzbekistan's market is highly dynamic and requires a deep understanding of local conditions, a strong product and high-quality service. He added that Uklon intends to continue investing in its platform, local team and user experience.

Kovtun has more than 10 years of experience in business management, operations and corporate development. Before joining Uklon, he served as Managing Director at the international engineering and consulting company Egis, where he oversaw business development and operations in Ukraine, the Caucasus and Central Asia. Earlier in his career, he headed a development department and a project management office and was involved in developing partnerships and commercial activities within industry organisations in Ukraine.

Uklon is a product-focused IT company and the developer of the ride-hailing platform of the same name. Since April 2025, 97% of the company's corporate rights have been owned by Kyivstar, Ukraine's largest electronic communications operator and part of the international VEON Group. According to the company, the group serves more than 160 million customers and develops services in telecommunications, ride-hailing, streaming, healthcare and financial technology. VEON shares are listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
