Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan exported textile products worth US$2.1 billion in January–August 2026, up 26.9% from the same period in 2025.

The National Statistics Committee released the preliminary data.

Textiles accounted for 9.4% of Uzbekistan’s total exports during the period, the committee said.

Finished textile products accounted for the largest share of textile exports at 51.4%, followed by yarn at 32.2%. Knitted fabrics accounted for 8%, fabrics for 6%, socks for 2% and carpets for 1%, according to the committee.

Under the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC), exports in the “Textile yarn, fabrics, made-up articles and related products” division amounted to US$1.31 billion, an increase of 24.7%.

This was the largest division within the “Manufactured goods” section. Exports across the entire section reached US$3.36 billion, up 25.6%, and accounted for 14.7% of total exports.

Exports of clothing and clothing accessories increased by 25.7% to US$848.1 million.

Exports of textile fibres and their waste amounted to US$42.9 million, equivalent to 72.7% of the previous year’s level.

Imports of textile yarn, fabrics and related products amounted to US$407.4 million, up 9.4%. Clothing imports increased by 21.8% to US$98.6 million. Imports of textile fibres and their waste amounted to US$53.6 million, or 83.7% of the previous year’s level.

Uzbekistan’s total exports in January–August 2026 amounted to US$22.9 billion, down 3.4% from a year earlier.

Foreign trade turnover reached US$57.4 billion during the reporting period, an increase of 7.6%. Imports rose by 16.3% to US$34.5 billion.
