Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan exported fruits and vegetables worth US$1.18 billion in January–August 2026, down 6.6% from the same period in 2025, according to preliminary data published by the National Statistics Committee on 30 September 2026.

In physical terms, exports fell by 1.4%, or 20,800 tonnes, to 1.4377 million tonnes. A year earlier, Uzbekistan exported 1.4585 million tonnes of fruit and vegetable products worth US$1.27 billion. Fruits and vegetables accounted for 5.2% of the country’s total exports.

Vegetable exports increased, while fruit exports declined. Uzbekistan exported 551,300 tonnes of vegetables worth US$203.4 million, compared with 488,300 tonnes worth US$168.6 million a year earlier.

Onions accounted for the largest share of vegetable exports, at 313,400 tonnes worth US$91.3 million, compared with 285,600 tonnes worth US$80.4 million a year earlier. Cabbage exports amounted to 139,000 tonnes worth US$54.6 million. Carrot exports reached 59,700 tonnes worth US$13.4 million, while tomato exports stood at 33,200 tonnes worth US$34.7 million and garlic exports at 5,900 tonnes worth US$9.4 million.

Fruit exports fell to 332,800 tonnes worth US$384 million, compared with 376,700 tonnes worth US$416.9 million a year earlier.

Peaches were the leading fruit export. Their shipments increased from 109,900 tonnes worth US$103.3 million to 115,800 tonnes worth US$114.7 million. Grape exports rose to 90,100 tonnes, although their value declined from US$78.3 million to US$74.8 million.

Apricot exports fell from 61,300 tonnes worth US$46.9 million to 26,400 tonnes worth US$32.5 million.

Cherry shipments declined from 34,300 tonnes worth US$72.5 million to 25,200 tonnes worth US$59.9 million.

Exports of dried grapes amounted to 56,100 tonnes worth US$66.6 million, compared with 60,400 tonnes worth US$81.1 million a year earlier. Dried prune exports fell to 19,100 tonnes, while their value increased from US$34.8 million to US$35.5 million.

Melon and watermelon exports declined in physical terms to 198,500 tonnes. In value terms, however, they increased from US$52.5 million to US$62 million. Uzbekistan exported 36,200 tonnes of mung beans worth US$34.3 million, while exports of peanuts and nuts amounted to 14,700 tonnes worth US$33.8 million. Other fruit and vegetable products accounted for 304,200 tonnes worth US$465 million, compared with 329,800 tonnes worth US$560.9 million a year earlier.

Under the Standard International Trade Classification (SITC) used by the committee, exports in the “Vegetables and Fruits” division amounted to US$1.22 billion, equivalent to 93.0% of the previous year’s level. Imports in this division reached US$381.6 million, up 29.7%.

Uzbekistan’s total exports in January–August 2026 amounted to US$22.9 billion, down 3.4% from the same period a year earlier, the committee said.
