Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek national team chess player Afruza Khamdamova secured her third International Master (IM) norm at the 46th World Chess Olympiad, which was held in Samarkand.
Throughout the tournament, Khamdamova played on the first board for Uzbekistan’s women’s team. She scored 6.5 points in 10 games, recording a rating performance of 2470.
Among the opponents defeated by the Uzbek chess player at the Olympiad were Carissa Yip of the United States, rated 2468, and Eline Roebers of the Netherlands.
