Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Austrian company Bauer have agreed to move to a new stage of cooperation on introducing water-saving technologies in agriculture.
Uzbekistan’s Agriculture Minister Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov held a meeting with Bauer’s Director of Finance Andreas Schitter. The sides discussed the current state of their partnership and prospects for further cooperation.
Particular attention was paid to supplying modern water-saving technologies for Uzbekistan’s agricultural sector.
The sides discussed opportunities to improve irrigation efficiency, conserve water resources and ensure crop yields through the use of modern sprinkler irrigation systems.
Following the meeting, a draft contract was signed as part of the second stage of the project “Introduction of Modern Water-Saving Technologies in Agriculture of Uzbekistan.” The document provides for the supply and full installation of modern sprinkler irrigation systems.
Uzbekistan’s Agriculture Ministry noted that the rational use of water resources and the introduction of modern technologies are among the priority areas for developing the agricultural sector.
The new stage of cooperation with Bauer envisages further application of international experience and modern irrigation solutions for agricultural land.
