Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan may temporarily restrict the operations of compressed natural gas (CNG) filling stations if necessary due to falling temperatures and the need to ensure stable gas supplies to households and social facilities.

Restrictions will be introduced according to approved schedules coordinated with local administrations. Consumers are expected to be informed in advance of any temporary measures. Households, schools, kindergartens, hospitals and other social facilities will be given priority in gas distribution.

According to UzHydromet, rain is expected across the country from 9 to 11 November, with snow forecast in northern and mountainous areas. Night-time temperatures in the north could fall to -7°C, while some areas in other regions may see temperatures drop to between -1°C and -2°C.

With colder weather approaching, the Ministry of Energy and relevant organisations are taking measures to ensure a stable energy supply. Preparations for the heating season are also continuing in Tashkent and other regions.

A 24-hour hotline, 1104, is available for enquiries about gas pressure and supply. Gas network emergencies should be reported by calling 104. Power outages and electricity network faults can be reported on 1154. Reports are forwarded to the responsible specialists for action.

Cases of illegal connections to utility networks and unauthorised use of energy resources can be reported to the Uzenergoinspektsiya at +998 71 208-10-15.

The authorities have also reminded the public of safety measures during the cold season. Residents should check that heating and gas appliances, chimneys and ventilation ducts are in proper working order. Faulty equipment should not be used, and gas stoves should not be used to heat rooms because of the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Consumers are also advised not to overload electrical wiring and sockets, connect several high-powered appliances to a single extension cord or leave heaters unattended. To reduce costs and pressure on utility networks, people are encouraged to switch off unnecessary electrical appliances, use heaters moderately and retain heat indoors.
