World Cup: Netherlands outplays Costa Rica in shootouts

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- The Netherlands advanced to the semifinals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, defeating Costa Rica on penalty shootouts with the score 4-3.

The Dutch team dominated in the match, while Costa Rica tried to double defense of the Netherlands in counter attacks. Despite, the sides had many chances to score a goal, the score was not opened.

The Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal replaced goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen with Tim Krul in the final moment of extra time to prepare to shootouts.

Tim Krul became a hero of the match as he saved two shots of Costa Rica to help his team to reach last four. Oranje will now face Argentina in a mouth-watering semi final.
