VTB submits application to purchase Uzbek bank

Kostin said the bank received permission of Russian Central Bank to purchase shares [of Uzbek bank] and the bank is submitting documents to controlling bodies of Uzbekistan for approval.

Earlier VTB reported that the bank is planning to enter Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan till the end of 2007.
