Turkic States Discuss Tax Cooperation in Budapest
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first meeting of the heads of tax administrations of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Budapest, where participants discussed strengthening cooperation in taxation and improving tax administration.
Farrukh Pulatov, Chairman of the Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took part in the event on behalf of the country's leadership. The meeting was aimed at developing multilateral cooperation among the tax authorities of Turkic states and enhancing the effectiveness of public administration.
During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on current issues related to tax policy and administration. Particular attention was paid to the digital transformation of tax services, the development of electronic services, improvements in tax control mechanisms, the promotion of voluntary tax compliance, and efforts to combat the shadow economy.
Participants reaffirmed their readiness to expand practical cooperation, exchange experience, and implement international best practices in tax administration.
It was noted that strengthening institutional cooperation among the tax administrations of OTS member states is aligned with the organization's strategic goals of deepening economic integration, advancing digital partnership, and increasing the competitiveness of national economies.
The event was organized at the initiative of the Hungarian side as a follow-up to agreements reached during the Organization of Turkic States summit held in Budapest in 2025.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed interest in further strengthening professional dialogue and implementing joint initiatives.
