Bakhtiyor Saidov Meets Indian Lower House Speaker Om Birla

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Speaker of the Lok Sabha (the lower house of the parliament) of India Om Birla on 4 August 2026.

The parties discussed the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation and the strengthening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

During the talks, special attention was paid to the role of parliamentary diplomacy in expanding bilateral relations.

The interlocutors considered deepening inter-parliamentary dialogue, stepping up the activities of parliamentary friendship groups, and exchanging experience in lawmaking.

As Bakhtiyor Saidov reported, the meeting took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere.

Om Birla also recalled his visit to Uzbekistan last year and again expressed gratitude for the reception and hospitality provided during the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
