Uzbekistan boosts electricity output by 5.8% in Jan–May 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s electricity generation increased by 5.8% in January–May 2026 compared to the same period last year, the Ministry of Energy said.
During the reporting period, the country produced a total of 37.6842 billion kWh of electricity. This is an increase of 2.0578 billion kWh year-on-year.
Electricity consumption during the same period reached 36.3174 billion kWh, up 3.8% compared to January–May 2025, or an increase of 1.3 billion kWh.
In May 2026 alone, electricity generation rose by 3.7% year-on-year, reaching 7.0157 billion kWh, an increase of 249.7 million kWh compared to May of the previous year.
Electricity consumption in May amounted to 6.7826 billion kWh, slightly up by 8 million kWh, or 0.1%, compared to May 2025.
