Ferghana Entrepreneurs Discuss Projects With Afghanistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A Uzbek delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev held talks in Kabul with Mavlavi Ahmadjon Bilal, head of Afghanistan’s State Corporations Administration. The sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, investment projects and industrial cooperation.
Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov also took part in the meeting. He said the region was interested in strengthening trade and economic ties with Afghanistan and implementing joint industrial and investment projects.
Particular attention was paid to initiatives by Green Infrastructure Investments Group LLC from the Yazyavan district of Ferghana Region. The sides discussed plans to establish production of smart electricity meters in Afghanistan, introduce modern management systems in the power sector and expand cooperation in information technology.
Afghanistan’s State Corporations Administration is responsible for coordinating the activities of state corporations, managing state property, financial and operational oversight, and implementing privatisation processes. Since 2022, the agency has been implementing a programme to reform state enterprises and corporations.
As part of its activities, the administration assists state enterprises in attracting financing, introducing modern technologies and equipment, expanding production capacity and improving the qualifications of managers. The agency also participates in infrastructure projects of social importance.
In addition, the State Corporations Administration implements projects in mining, construction materials and cement production, telecommunications, fibre-optic communications and agriculture.
The agency also supports trade and industrial cooperation, production and exports, exhibitions, professional training and the development of local entrepreneurship.
