Remittance Inflows to Uzbekistan Reach US$9.3 Billion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — International remittance inflows to Uzbekistan totalled US$9.3 billion in January-June 2026, according to the Central Bank's review of the domestic foreign exchange market.

The figure was 13% higher than in the same period of 2025, when remittance inflows reached US$8.2 billion, and 44% above the level recorded in the first half of 2024, when they totalled US$6.5 billion.

Outflows through international money transfers amounted to US$1.3 billion during the reporting period and have remained virtually unchanged for the past three years, compared with US$1.25 billion in 2024 and US$1.23 billion in 2025.

As a result, the positive balance of remittance flows reached US$8 billion, up from US$7 billion a year earlier.

According to the Central Bank, remittance inflows were one of the key factors supporting the stability of the domestic foreign exchange market.

Together with higher export earnings and increased foreign currency sales by households, they contributed to foreign currency supply growing faster than demand and helped maintain the stability of the national currency. At the end of June, the exchange rate stood at 12,009 soums per US dollar, unchanged from the beginning of the year.
