Uzmetkombinat increases steel output by 3.7%

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzmetkombinat, Uzbek steel producer, produced 657,000 tonnes of steel in the first eleven months of the year. The growth rate made up 3.7% year-on-year.

Uzmetkombinat’s ferrous metal roll output in the period increased 8.5% year-on-year to 647,700 tonnes. The special iron production increased by 10.3% to 515,100 tonnes.

The Uzbek steel producer uses steel scrap for smelting, supplied by other Central Asian states. The supplies have dwindled lately.
