World Bank Delegation Visits Namangan Rural Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Namangan, within the framework of the “Rural Infrastructure Development” project implemented with the participation of the International Development Association of the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, a visit took place by a delegation led by World Bank Vice President Akihiko Nishio.

The first stop of the programme was the Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur Culture and Recreation Park, where guests were introduced to the 65th International Flower Festival. The delegation noted the bright floral compositions and the overall level of organisation of the event.

During the visit, representatives of the World Bank, together with First Deputy Hokim of Namangan region Zukhriddin Bakhritdinov and Hokim of Namangan city Ayyubkhan Kamalov, were briefed on urban improvement and the development of city infrastructure.

The foreign guests underlined that the timing of the visit coinciding with the festival allowed them to become more familiar with the cultural life of the region and expressed positive impressions of the city’s atmosphere.

Following the visit, the importance of such contacts was noted for strengthening cooperation with international financial institutions and for the further implementation of infrastructure projects in the regions of Uzbekistan.
