Uzcosmos, China discuss space cooperation expansion
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The leadership of the Uzcosmos agency held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan, during which the parties discussed the development of cooperation in the space sector and the application of related technologies in the economy.
The main focus of the talks was the use of space-based solutions across various industries, the development of scientific research, training of qualified specialists, and the implementation of joint projects. The sides noted that China’s advanced experience in the space industry opens additional opportunities for Uzbekistan’s accelerated technological development.
It was emphasized that the use of space technologies delivers practical results in the real economy.
In particular, the discussion covered more accurate forecasting of crop yields in agriculture, improved efficiency in water resource management, enhanced environmental monitoring, as well as better urban planning and infrastructure development.
The participants also discussed projects initiated under the President of Uzbekistan, including the launch of the country’s first scientific satellite and preparations for the first national astronaut.
The sides exchanged views on further plans for expanding cooperation in these areas.
