Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — IT Park Uzbekistan has opened a representative office in the South Korean city of Seongnam, established jointly with the Global Digital Innovation Network (GDIN).
The new platform will support technology companies and startups in entering the markets of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, as well as promote the development of joint international projects, the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan said.
New IT Park platform in Korea
The opening ceremony took place at the Pangyo Technovalley technology cluster during the visit to the Republic of Korea by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and IT Park Uzbekistan Executive Director Jahongir Rajabov.
During the visit, they held talks with GDIN President and CEO JongKap Kim. The sides discussed expanding cooperation in supporting startups and technology companies.
The representative office will serve as a platform for direct interaction between IT Park Uzbekistan and Korean technology companies, startups, investors and other participants in the innovation ecosystem. Daniyar Atadzhanov was appointed as the official representative of IT Park Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea.
At the event, representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan and GDIN presented the activities of their organizations. GDIN Executive Director Seokjin Jang spoke about the network’s main areas of work, after which the IT Park Uzbekistan team presented the opportunities offered by Uzbekistan’s technology ecosystem and the conditions for developing international business.
IT Park and GDIN sign memorandum
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between IT Park Uzbekistan and GDIN.
The document provides for support for startups, assistance in the international expansion of technology companies, and the development of practical mechanisms for cooperation between the innovation ecosystems of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
The sides plan to establish joint ventures, implement programs to help companies enter foreign markets, launch exchange programs between startups from the two countries, and develop joint pilot projects. Artificial intelligence and research and development (R&D) will be among the specific areas of cooperation.
IT Park Uzbekistan will also join the GDIN partner network, which is expected to expand direct contacts between Uzbek and Korean technology companies.
Uzbek startups to have opportunity to test solutions in Korea
The sides paid particular attention to launching the first Proof of Concept (PoC) program for Uzbek startups in the Republic of Korea under the Korea–Uzbekistan Global PoC Program.
The program will enable companies to test technological solutions directly on the Korean market, receive feedback from potential partners and customers, assess demand for their products, and prepare for subsequent scaling.
In addition, the sides discussed establishing joint ventures involving companies from the two countries. At the initial stage, three JV projects and one PoC program are planned. Their launch is scheduled for January 2027.

A networking session was also held as part of the event, bringing together representatives of South Korea’s technology, investment, education and business communities.
Representatives of KOIIA, Inpro, KPMG, Ezcure, Korea IT Consulting, KDDI Korea, Neural D, Yonsei University, ARTYZ Korea Inc., WISESTONE, Prototie and SaferZone took part.
Participants discussed promising areas of cooperation, companies’ entry into the markets of the two countries, implementation of joint projects, and the development of direct business ties between technology companies from Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
GDIN was established in 2013. The organization promotes international cooperation between innovative technology companies from the Republic of Korea and other countries, as well as their entry into global markets. Since its establishment, GDIN has supported more than 3,000 technology companies, facilitated the development of 160 international partnerships, provided more than 20,000 consulting services, and helped companies attract about US$3.6 billion in investment.
The opening of the IT Park Uzbekistan representative office and the signing of the memorandum with GDIN provide a practical foundation for Uzbek startups to enter the Korean market, attract Korean companies to Uzbekistan, establish joint ventures, and test technological solutions through PoC programs.
