Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Specialists from Uzbekistan’s National Agency for Prospective Projects (NAPP) participated in a training organized by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the role of credit rating agencies in the securities market.

The main speaker was Abraham Patney, Senior Counsel at the SEC’s Office of Credit Ratings. He highlighted key aspects of the operations of credit rating agencies, including managing conflicts of interest, corporate governance, and internal control mechanisms.

The training was attended by representatives of financial organizations, experts in regulation, as well as students and faculty from various countries.

Discussions covered current trends and issues facing credit rating agencies in the rapidly evolving financial world. Special focus was given to the future regulation of these agencies and their impact on investment decisions.

The participation of NAPP representatives in this training underscores Uzbekistan’s commitment to enhancing professionalism in financial regulation and developing the national securities market in line with international standards.
