Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A large next-generation fish farming cluster using South Korean technologies and attracting foreign direct investment is planned for Uzbekistan’s Namangan Region, the regional administration said.
The project was discussed during a working visit by a Namangan Region delegation to South Korea led by regional governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzoqov.
Representatives of Namangan Region visited the Aqua Plaza & Jang Hang Fish Farm, a modern intelligent fish farming complex that uses innovative technologies.
Following the talks, the Namangan Region administration, U.K. Global Network and Aqua Plaza & Jang Hang Fish Farm signed a trilateral memorandum of understanding and cooperation.
The planned complex is expected to cover key stages of fish production. One area will be the introduction of smart fish farming technologies involving digital and intensive management of water bodies.
The project also includes deep fish processing, industrial packaging and the production of finished food products targeting export markets.
Another focus will be the creation of an in-house feed supply.
Namangan Region plans to localize the production of high-quality, nutritious fish feed that meets international standards.
