Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Emergency Situations Ministry rescuers helped 17 people who became lost in mountainous terrain in Akhangaran District of Tashkent Region, the ministry said.
The report was received by the Kamchik Special Rescue Department through the 112 emergency system at 21:27 on 12 September.
According to the information received, the 17 people had gone to the area of Chinor mahalla, located at the 107th kilometre of the Tashkent–Osh highway in the Valley–Tashkent direction, to spend time outdoors. They subsequently lost their way in the mountainous area.
Search and rescue teams were dispatched to the site after the report was received. Rescuers searched the mountain slopes and located all 17 people.
The citizens were escorted out of the dangerous area to a safe location and then taken to their places of residence.
No one was injured in the incident.
