Tashkent Metro Cuts Train Intervals During Morning Rush Hour

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent Metro has shortened train intervals during the morning rush hour following the start of the new academic year, the Tashkent Metro administration said.

The measures were introduced in response to an expected increase in passenger traffic after classes resumed at higher education institutions.

The new academic year at universities in the capital began on 7 September. During the morning peak, the metro increased the frequency of train services to provide more regular service and greater convenience for passengers.

At the same time, metro management has arranged for senior officials to be on duty at all stations during peak hours. The measure is intended to allow rapid monitoring of the situation, regulate passenger flows and ensure passenger safety.

Enhanced measures have been introduced at Chilanzar, Pakhtakor, Amir Temur Khiyoboni, Alisher Navoi and Beruni stations.

These stations are expected to experience the highest passenger traffic, prompting the metro to strengthen monitoring and passenger service.

The Tashkent Metro administration said the measures are aimed at maintaining comfortable and safe conditions for passengers as the increased demand places additional pressure on the city’s transport system.

Tashkent Metro will continue to regulate passenger flows and ensure quality service during peak hours.
