Uzbekistan Deposit Guarantee Agency Studies Armenia’s Experience

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Deposit Guarantee Agency visited Yerevan on 26–27 August to study Armenia’s practical experience in deposit guarantee mechanisms.

The visit was conducted under a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation signed in 2025 and focused on exchanging practical experience between the two sides.

The talks involved representatives of Armenia’s Deposit Guarantee Fund and specialists from the Central Bank of Armenia responsible for financial stability, crisis management, consumer protection and financial literacy.

During the meetings, the Uzbek delegation reviewed the legal and regulatory framework of Armenia’s deposit guarantee system, as well as internal documents governing investment activities.

The sides also examined principles for forming an investment portfolio, the list of permitted financial instruments and mechanisms for assessing and managing credit, market, operational and liquidity risks.

The participants exchanged experience in diversifying investment portfolios, revaluing them, applying limit systems and conducting stress tests.

Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Deposit Guarantee Agency, in turn, shared their practical experience gained in 2026 in organizing and making compensation payments to depositors following the revocation of a commercial bank’s license.

As part of the working visit, the delegation also visited the Central Bank of Armenia’s Visitor Center and museum.

Following the meetings, the sides agreed to continue regular dialogue under the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation and expand the exchange of practical experience in deposit guarantee mechanisms.
