Uzbekistan’s GDP grows by 7.8% in Jan-Sep

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan grew by 7.8% in nine months of 2016, a session of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to results of social-economic development of Uzbekistan in nine months of 2016.

Industrial production of Uzbekistan grew by 7.2% in January-September 2016, construction works – 15%, agriculture production – 6.4%, retail trade turnover – 14.2% and services – 12.4%.

State budget was executed with the 0.1% surplus to GDP. The inflation level did not exceed forecasted parameters.

Resources for 6.8 trillion soums and US$150 million were directed to implementation of the state programme “The Year of Healthy Mother and Child” in the reporting period.

The volume of used investments grew by 9.4% in January-September 2016, including foreign investments by 11.2%.

About 100 large production objects were launched in Uzbekistan in nine months of 2016 within the investment programme. Another 64 large enterprises will be commissioned till the end of 2016.
