Uzbekistan’s Fruit and Vegetable Exports Grow 9.5% in January–April 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Exports of fruit and vegetable products from Uzbekistan totaled $454.5 million in January–April 2026, marking a 9.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee.

The share of fruit and vegetable exports in the country’s total merchandise exports reached 4.6%. In physical terms, shipments also increased from 463.6 thousand tons to 489.5 thousand tons.

Fruits: strong growth in value terms

Fruit exports showed the most significant growth, rising from $76.9 million to $112.1 million in value terms (+45.8%), while physical volumes increased from 64.3 thousand tons to 86.6 thousand tons.

The main exported products included dried grapes (38.2 thousand tons, $45.7 million), prunes (12.5 thousand tons, $23.3 million), and dried apricots (7.6 thousand tons, $18.9 million). Pomegranate exports increased significantly from zero in the previous year to 7.5 thousand tons worth $11.1 million, while grape shipments also rose from 9.6 thousand tons to 17.7 thousand tons.

Vegetables: mixed dynamics

Vegetable exports increased in value from $86.8 million to $93.0 million, while physical volumes slightly declined from 243.8 thousand tons to 239.8 thousand tons. Cabbage remained the leading product, increasing from 103.6 thousand tons ($39.5 million) to 117.5 thousand tons ($44.3 million).

Onions saw a decline from 100.3 thousand tons to 70.7 thousand tons, with export value decreasing from $25.4 million to $20.0 million. Carrot exports increased both in volume (22.0 to 32.5 thousand tons) and value ($4.1 million to $6.8 million).

Tomato exports also grew significantly, rising from 8.9 thousand tons to 10.7 thousand tons (+20%), while revenue increased from $10.3 million to $13.3 million (+29%).

Other categories

Nut and peanut exports slightly declined in value from $21.7 million to $20.9 million, with stable physical volumes (9.2 to 9.3 thousand tons).

Mung bean exports increased from 25.6 thousand tons ($22.3 million) to 26.2 thousand tons ($25.0 million). The “other” category remained the largest in value terms at around $203–207 million, maintaining its dominant share in the structure of fruit and vegetable exports.
