$10 Million in Business Projects Planned for Ferghana's Baghdad District
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Khokim of Ferghana Region Khayrullo Bozorov reviewed business projects planned for implementation in the Baghdad District on 11 August 2026, involving investments exceeding US$10 million and the creation of more than 300 jobs, according to the Ferghana Region Khokimiyat.
The industrial projects are planned for placement on the territory of the Khazini Machine and Tractor Station. In particular, Kuva Textile plans to establish a ginnery and a knitwear factory on the site of a former airfield.
The head of the region also reviewed presentations for 15 livestock development projects. The Ziroatchi Mustafokul farm plans to create a complex for 2,000 head of cattle, while four other farms intend to construct facilities with a capacity of 1,000 head of cattle each.
In the Oydinbulok mahalla, entrepreneur Bakhodir Mustafokulov has already begun implementing a project designed to house 1,000 head of cattle and 100 horses.
Bozorov instructed organizers to execute the livestock projects using modern approaches and technologies, with special emphasis on improving breeding qualities and livestock productivity.
In the Irgoli mahalla, the regional khokim inspected efforts focused on territory specialization, poverty reduction, and local employment. Approximately 50 local households are planned to be engaged in tulip growing.
During the first phase under the "Every Family — Entrepreneur" program, 10 households were selected and have begun flower cultivation. Plans call for eventually utilizing 250 local greenhouses for hydroponic flower production.
According to estimates, growing Dutch tulips can generate up to 280–300 million soums in income per sotka (100 square meters) of land. Plans in the mahalla also include establishing specialized storage warehouses, a laboratory, and a training center for florists.
In addition, Bozorov visited a local sewing workshop in the mahalla providing employment for 20 local women.
The regional head expressed readiness to support initiatives aimed at effectively utilizing local potential, creating new income sources, and providing employment opportunities for residents, particularly women.
